Community & Events Manager

Jöttnar is a young company that strives to make the world’s best technical clothing for mountain sports and adventure. It equips and inspires people to get outdoors.

Nested within the marketing team, the Community Growth Manager is a new role that requires an entrepreneurial mountain sports enthusiast to plan, deliver and manage community engagement initiatives via events, campaigns, content, partner collaborations and social media.

It offers hybrid working and will involve regular travel in service of relationship development, event management and content creation, much of which will have been developed through your own initiative and by your intuitive understanding of mountain culture. You will have a solid understanding of the outdoor industry, including the customer demographics and sector touchpoints within.

You will bring experience and tactical know-how of cultivating vibrant and active brand communities. Crucially, as a seasoned mountain sports participant, you will be able to interact credibly with our athlete team, as well as possessing the language, knowledge and gravitas to represent the brand effectively both digitally and at physical events. Success will be measured by the engagement, vibrancy and growth of Jöttnar’s community.

Key Duties:

  • Develop, launch and manage new brand partnership collaborations to engage our community through events and similar experience initiatives.
  • Form key relationships with relevant athletes and people of influence to expand and engage our community.
  • Lead the design and delivery of creative and engaging social media strategies, with marketing team support, optimising content to encourage community interaction and engagement.
  • Manage budgets for community growth and experience activities. Create a roadmap with clear KPIs to increase brand awareness and event attendance online and offline.
  • Undertake audience research and competitor analysis, identifying consumer trends and the opportunities for large-scale brand visibility.
  • Work closely with colleagues to compile and adapt all community content to suit different channels and audiences, generating, editing and sharing engaging output.
  • Alongside the Ecommerce team, monitor, track, analyse and report on performance of social media platforms using relevant tools and software.

    Role Requirements:

    • A love for, and active immersion in, mountain sports is essential. You will be a passionate participant and advocate, and have deep knowledge of mountain culture.
    • Experience capturing and curating on-the-ground, engaging content and managing community UGC for use on a variety of social channels.
    • Experience planning and managing events to engage and grow the community.
    • Fluent, persuasive, articulate and outgoing.
    • Excellent communication and copywriting skills.
    • Well organised, resilient and self-motivated.
    • Ability to set and hit deadlines and budgets following a pre-determined roadmap.
    • Familiarity with digital photo editing tools, such as Adobe Photoshop and/or Lightroom is a plus.
    • A growth mindset with a positive attitude and strong ability to work as part of a team. You are proactive, enquiring and energetic.

      Remuneration, Benefits and Conditions

      • Annual salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE.
      • Company Pension.

      • 28 working days paid holiday per year, in addition to normal bank and public holidays.
